The children of Jeremiah Hampton and Pamelia Worster:
Mary Alcinda Hampton – Mary was born on November 2, 1819 in Fauquier County, Virginia. She married Thomas Landes in Ohio. He was a farmer and carpenter. They had 6 children. She died April 23, 1904 in Norman, McLean County, Illinois. Her obituary says that she is the oldest of 12 children, with only her youngest sister Jennie surviving her. Census records on the family indicate the possibly of only 2 unidentified children, who would have been born between 1820 and 1830, and died prior to 1840. Perhaps 5 more siblings were born and died without ever showing up on a census.
Andrew Hampton – Andrew was born about 1829 in Ohio. My only record of him by name is on the 1850 US Census.
Sarah Louisa Hampton – Sarah was born in November 22, 1834. She married Samuel Porter, a farmer, on May 30, 1854 in Muskingum County, Ohio. They had 7 children. She died January 30, 1901 in Hudson, McLean County, Illinois. Her Find A Grave memorial is here.
Francis M. “Frank” Hampton – Frank is Todd’s 2X Great Grandfather. Read about him here.
Susan Jane “Jennie” Hampton – Jennie was born about 1845 in Ohio. She married Henry Bowles, after he fought in the Civil War. They had 3 children, but only son Oscar Henry Bowles lived long enough to appear on a census. Jennie was widowed in 1882. Jennie died on June 17, 1925 in Los Angeles County, California. She lived there with her son Oscar.
